Seven years

Two days ago was my 7 years Anniversary at Olympic Software. Seven years, man, since I graduated from university I have been working there for Joe. It’s always good time, never thought about leaving. Partly because of all  the freedom I got here, partly because of the love.

So doughnuts I brought to work.

Respect the CEO of the Snackbox

Doing second interviews these three days, actually I am currently at one of these, the guy sitting opposite to me is working on a problem. Just in case the last candidate who we will meet tomorrow may find my blog, I better not talk about the problems here.

Oh, but I still have to post a photo of our CEO of the Olympic snackbox.

Interviews

So far, we have interviewed seven people. At the moment we are supposed to interview another one, but he didn’t come! Can you believe that? It’s okay if he got another job or whatever, but he should at least give me a call right? I cannot believe this guy just decided not to turn up. Guys these days.

Anyway.

You know, CV, Curriculum Vitae, is Latin. Curriculum means “a race”, or “a race course”, also used for “career”, second declension neuter noun. Vitae, genitive singular of Vita (Life), first declension female noun. So “curriculum vitae” is “Course of life” or “Career of life”.

At least five more interviews to go…kinda a bit boring, you know. :P

Yay~ first steamboat event at Olympic lunch room. We had quite a lot of food, but we managed to finish all of them. Yes, ALL!!! Nothing left! It was really fun and everyone came out with a full stomach.

A very amazing event, and we have decided to have another one (at least!) before the winter ends. Some people couldn’t make it this time because it’s on Tuesday, so next time, maybe Wednesday. :)

Yum~

2009 Olympic Software Christmas Party

Oops, my laptop is dirty because previously I was cooking and facebooking at the same time. Anyway. That’s not important. So today was our Christmas Party! This year it’s a bit different, as it happened in our own warehouse instead of somewhere out there, which is good. More freedom, and better food, because we are cooking our own food and there are a lot of very talented people. The only not-so-good thing this year was… NO Helium balloons! Which means we cannot do cartoon voice this year. Well, someone would probably say I can do cartoon voice anytime anyway without the help of helium.

Of course I have taken heaps of photos! But not just me, Ivy ad Fiora did the same thing with their camera. Hugh picked up Ivy camera later and was shooting every minute. See, I am not alone. Not going to put all these photos here because a lot of them are in facebook already. Except, I didn’t put up one I had my Santa Crocs on.

I really like this one, me and my brother. We are both smiling in this photo. I love it. Do we look alike in any way? I am prettier for sure though, no doubt~ :P

It was a very good Christmas Party. Everyone’s happy. :)

Joe's 60th Birthday

Today is Joe's 60th birthday. We had been secretly prepared a celebration for him. Everyone from Auckland office joined, and people like Stephen and Joy who have already left Olympic came along as well. Robyn brought her baby girl, who had been crying a bit during the speeches.

Joe were very surprised, proven that we had kept it very quiet. Some of us are invited to make speeches (Terryll nearly forgot me!) before Joe said something about his 60th (he looked a bit shy and embarrassed, haha). Olympic is really like a whanau. We are all workmates, but there's more than that. I am so glad that I've been working here since I graduated from University.

By the way, I gave Joe a hug and a kiss. smile_regular

Moses' Last Day Photos

IMGP1347This is last Friday, 15th February 2008. We had lunch at Sylvia Park (yea, the usual place, same as today and the week before last). The guy at the front on the left hand side is Moses. We started off at Olympic around the same time. Can say we grow up together, and now he's flying away from the nest, haha. As you can see, now we have a lot of girls. Unlike 3 years ago, I was the only girl in the team.

IMGP1366Moses is a funny guy. We were trying to do the traditional Asian photo posture, the V hand shape, in this photo. Well, apparently Moses is not a good photographer, very big part of our fingers are out of the photo. Well, but you get the idea, he is funny, ha.

I took the following picture, Moses and Andre. I think it's a really cool photo. Moses said in his presentation that Andre is like his big brother. Yeah, I feel the same. Andre is like our big brother (but I usually tell people he is my boss... well and he is, haha).

IMGP1336

We took this photo the day before Moses' last day. The four of us (usual bunch, me, Moses, Andre and Sasanka) went to an Indian restaurant during lunch time. It's a really good photo. One of Andre's arms appears to be extremely long, which is very funny. We've printed out this photo, and will post onto the board later.

Yep, we have a board in the kitchen with a lot of photos. You can see there are still some spaces. Hopefully we will fill in those gaps soon and need another board!

So, bye bye Moses. Get a girlfriend from Gold Coast, there're heaps of hot ones!

The Daye after Last day

(I bet Babel fish can't translate this into something meaningful in English. MWHAHAHA...)

Working with VB and C# .NET

After the painful J2EE development we had in Year 3, we all love .NET. Now my job is develop web apps with either VB .NET or C# .NET, well, I should be happy ay.

It's quite nice to work in Olympic Software, good environment, good people, and good opportunities for learning stuff.

Thanks God for everything he gave me, he knows what I need and what suit me the best.
